After a great career as a pharmacist, Therese Cooper decided that she had more to offer than pills and miraculous potions… She realised that not only did she have talent to cure but also to entertain and perhaps even become an international success. That’s why she applied to be part of Broadcast Management! One of her first castings landed her a job and now she can be seen on television in Australia and New Zealand as part of the new Wrigley’s campaign. Her mission to take on the world does not seem at all impossible… the ad may still go worldwide!!
That’s what John Easton and Joe Nati decided when asked by Petra and Robbie in the New Zealand Tourism TV Commercial. Both John and Joe are the happy fathers of two little Brats’ models who tought they could shine as much as their children. From parenthood to stardom was just a little step for these outgoing and talented fathers. Congratulations guys!
Time and again the Broadcast gang has to rely on locals from the hood to put on their “acting caps”. The Australian Association of Chartered Accountants needed a variety of cool uni student types, including an Asian groovster… Without further ado, young barista Kane Yoon from the Orange Peel Cafe in Beattie St was cast for the job and instantly catapulted into the midst of one of Sydney’s major photo studios. Well done Kane!!!
Like many hard workers, the Broadcast team relies heavily on caffeine to keep us perky which is why it’s rather fortunate that our office is metres away from one of the best café strips in Sydney: Darling St, Balmain. Like many coffee connoisseurs we have our favourite haunts, in particular ‘Little Marionettes’ where we are often served by 23 year old Morgan Knight.
Not long ago, Broadcast’s canny booking agent, Andreia Henriques, happened to pop the office camera into her handbag, so she could take a couple of snaps of Morgan at work. We then submitted them to renowned casting director, Toni Higginbotham, who quickly recognised good talent and cast Morgan as a barista in a national Omo washing powder TV commercial!
A huge thanks to Morgan for his enthusiasm and for also putting up with our fussy coffee orders. And also to Andreia for always being on the Broadcast lookout for new faces. You never know where the next one is hiding!
We were delighted to come across yoga teacher, Gwynne Jones, recently who joined Broadcast wanting to add a new dimension to her life. Fast forward one month later and Gwynne was cast in a Ferro Grad iron supplement ad as a woman who falls asleep on a bike! She also recently worked on a live performance project for a local fashion team. Gwynne’s still happily teaching yoga too but is really enjoying this new interesting chapter in her career - as are we!
I’ve recently returned from seven weeks in Europe (part work, part play) and as usual most of the cities’ populations had cleared out for the summer - except for Berlin which was positively pumping! It almost seemed like the whole of Europe had headed there too. I also had a chance to hit the beaches on Ibiza where I spotted the likes of Gisele Bundchen and Elle Macpherson who in between trips to the shore from their yachts, hung around looking absolutely amazing. Almost as good as the talent on Broadcast’s books!
